Description

The MXD2R has been designed to be plugged into (daughter board connector) one of our SBC boards, like the SBC28PC, SBC44UC, SBC65EC, SBC68EC.... It has two relays, and a number of analog, open collector and digital inputs and outputs. Additionally it has a 14 pin, 2.54mm IDC connector for expanding the boards I/Os.

Any use of this module is at your own risk! Always take necessary safety precautions when working with high voltages to prevent electrical shock! Modtronix Engineering will take no responsibility for any damage or personal injury incurred due to using this unit with high voltages!

Features

  • Can be used as a daughter board on our range or MicroX compact Single Board Computers.
  • Two 2A, 30V relay outputs.
  • Three Open Collector, digital outputs. Two have a maximum current of 1A, and the third of 500mA. All outputs together must be equal or less than 1A. These outputs connect to the PWM outputs of the SBC board.
  • Three Analog inputs, or digital inputs/outputs
  • One 14 pin IDC connector with 8 general purpose digital inputs/outputs, GND, 5V and 12V supply.

Using together with a SBC board

This MXD2R board can be plugged into the daughter board connector of the following boards: SBC65EC, SBC68EC, SBC28PC, SBC28DC, SBC44UC, SBC44B. When plugged into a SBC board's daughter board connector, the IOs (inputs, outputs and relays) are accessable via the following port pins of the Microcontroller.

  • RLY2 (pin 1 and 2) is connected to PIC port pin B5. The relay output is made (shorted) when port pin B5 is set. It is open when the PIC port pin is low.
  • RLY1 (pin 3 and 4) is connected to PIC port pin B4. The relay output is made (shorted) when port pin B4 is set. It is open when the PIC port pin is low.
  • O6 (pin 5) is connected to PIC port pin C0. It is a 500mA open collector output. The output is pulled low to ground when port pin C0 is set. It is high impedance when the PIC port pin is low.
  • O5 (pin 6) is connected to PIC port pin C1. It is a 1000mA open collector output. The output is pulled low to ground when port pin C1 is set. It is high impedance when the PIC port pin is low.
  • O4 (pin 7) is connected to PIC port pin C2. It is a 1000mA open collector output. The output is pulled low to ground when port pin C2 is set. It is high impedance when the PIC port pin is low.
  • IO3 (pin 8 ) is connected to PIC port pin A2. It has a 1k resistor in series with it. It can be used as an Analog Input, Digital Input or Digital Output.
  • IO2 (pin 9) is connected to PIC port pin A1. It has a 1k resistor in series with it. It can be used as an Analog Input, Digital Input or Digital Output.
  • IO1 (pin 10) is connected to PIC port pin A0. It has a 1k resistor in series with it. It can be used as an Analog Input, Digital Input or Digital Output.
  • 12V (pin 11) is connected to the VREG_IN supply of the SBC board it is plugged into. If plugged into the SBC65EC or SBC68EC board, it will have the supply voltage on it that is suppNever supply power on this connector and the 2.1mm power connector of the SBC board at the same time! Power should only be supplied via one of the two.
  • GND (pin 12) = 0V. Is connected to the GND signal of the SBC board it is plugged into.
